Pathway is providing respite care for homeless people, to make sure nobody leaving hospital has to sleep on the streets.
Most poorly people leaving hospital want chicken soup, a blanket, and their sofa. Sadly, many homeless people return to the pavement, or a hostel that struggles to provide the nursing they need.
With support from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity, Pathway is trying to change that. We’re leading an investigation into post-hospital care for homeless people in south London. The project will look at care for homeless people who need somewhere safe to recover, freeing up hospital beds.
Using the skills of our expert medical team and the voices of homeless people, the work will draw together recommendations and decide the best way to make sure that everybody leaving hospital has someone to care for them.
