Dr Lucy Potter is an academic GP at the University of Bristol supported by the SPCR PhD Programme for Primary Care Clinicians. For five years she provided an outreach clinic for street sex working women at a drop in centre for women who are street sex working in Bristol (One25). She is co-founder of Bridging Gaps, a co-production team of women with lived experience of addiction, homelessness, mental health problems, sexual exploitation, street sex work, domestic and sexual violence, and poverty. Together they have collaborated on service improvements in General Practice, including developing the Open Doors clinic in Bristol.

Her ongoing clinical and research focus is on improving general practice for and with people with severe and multiple disadvantage (SMD). As part of this she is bringing together realist methods and co-production to collaborate with people with lived experience in working out how we do this better.
